Naan Bread
Ingredients
- 150 ml milk
- 7 g or 2 teaspoons dried yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 500 g flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 Tablespoons oil
- 150 g plain yogurt
- 1 egg
- 1 Tablespoon or more, rosemary, finely chopped
Method

Pre-heat the oven to 220° Celsius

Heat the milk gently in a large pot and add the crumbled yeast

Add the sugar, stir well and rest for 10 minutes util the yeast has dissolved

Sift the flour into a large bowl, add the salt and baking powder and mix together

Add the yeast mixture, oil, yogurt and egg and knead into a dough

Cover and allow to rise in a warm place for 1 hour

Knead the dough on a floured work surface, divide into 8 pieces and roll into balls

Roll 4 of the balls into teardrop shaped naan breads, and sprinkle with rosemary

Place the naans on a baking tray and bake in the middle of the oven for about 8 minutes or until light brown

Prepare the remaining dough in the same way
