  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp black mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp onion seeds
  • 3 onions, finely sliced
  • 3 green chilli peppers, seeds removed, cut into thin strips
  • 500 g lamb or beef, cut into thin strips
  • 1/4 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tbsp Worcester sauce
  • 3 tomatoes, peeled, seeds removed, finely chopped

Method

Jalfrezi Curry Recipe Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the mustard and cumin seeds for half a minute until they start to crackle. Add the onion and the chilli peppers, fry gently and stir continuously.

  2. Stir in the meat, ground spices, Worcester sauce and tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper and fry together on medium heat for a further 5 to 10 minutes.

  3. Remove from the frying pan and serve with rice.
